Treatment interventions (adults)

This programme provides treatment interventions for adults presenting with drug and alcohol issues using evidence-based therapies and also through harm reduction advice and information. The service is operated by Community Addiction Team (CAT) based in Sandyford and has an outreach to local areas. The service is also available through telephone/video call.

In addition, the HSE operates Harm Reduction services in DLR, including needle exchange and safer drug use advice, counselling and opiate substitution therapies and rehabilitation supports. The HSE alongside the Department of Employment Affairs and Social Projection also fund the Dun Laoghaire Rathdown Outreach Project (DROP) in central Dun Laoghaire to provide evidence-based therapies and treatments, including: pre-entry, stabilisation, drug-free recovery, and harm reduction advice and information
